Since the first time we settled in barangay Songcuya, this
was the first time that we felt so comfortable, that we finally considered it
our second home. The water, although still a bit murky, does not bother us the
way it used to. The heat, it may slow us down a bit, but the cold rain in the
afternoon makes its way and reminds us that hardship or discomfort is not always for long. The food, which used
to be simple, is now a means of something to look forward to every meal. But setting
aside the little things that used to bother us, the best thing about this
exposure is that now, we really feel that were are one and we are always
welcome to the people. It seems that every one is a familiar face by now. We
already know their stories, how they go about life, how their families have
grown and how we have grown part of their lives as well. It really feels
amazing and fulfilling to come back to our second home. After long months of
clerkship, busy schedules, deadlines and stress, we came home to this. It was
simple yet peaceful.
