Home away from home

"The community - is the heart of our Medical School."

Life in its simplest form, is what we have experienced in the small community of Barangay Songcuya, Diplahan.

The people were very hospitable.

They treated us well and gave us their sincere kindness.
All we could think about during my first week in Diplahan was to go home. Hahahahaha!

but then again, as days passed, we soon realized why our school encouraged such immersion. and we learned to do what the people in the community do. like  washing dishes and clothes with our bare hands

cooking REAL FOOD

doing simple household chores

and fall prey to some insects still unknown to Science :)

Our exposure made us realize how lucky we are to have what we have now. It reminded us why we pursued Medicine in the first place -

 to HELP individuals,

families

and the community

With this community engraved in our hearts forever, they are our inspiration in achieving our goal.
